30 Day Ficmeme - Days 12, 13, and 14
Oct. 4th, 2015 01:56 pm12: Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?
No! Although The Wasting Game is technically an adaptation of a poem by Philip Gross, if that counts...
13: Do you prefer canon or fanon when you write? Has writing fanfic for a fandom changed the way you see some or even all of the original source material?
I write more modern aus than canon for Merlin (usually due to extreme laziness and inability to be historically accurate). It's no secret that the canon of the show is a bit, er, lacking sometimes on plot and characterisation, and probably the greatest thing about Merlin fanfic is how skilfully some people can fill the gaps canon left.
I definitely see the Arthurian legends through the lens of Merlin now! Probably one of the greatest things about seeing them through that lens is the rehabilition of Guinevere from one-note adulteress to the delightful Gwen we all know and love <3

14: Ratings: how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
As high as it can go, baby. *slow motion wink*
