Thank you for your good wishes! Those are both such good ideas but even the idea of both of them makes me feel a bit sick! I think this is what being raised Catholic does for you, I've spent much too long contemplating the horrors of being crucified... Someone else suggested a Merlin with wings fic where he gets pinned by them - I guess the faery element of that might make it feel a bit less close to home and squick me out less...

Or yes, focusing on the comfort after and being very vague about the hurt is another good way to go!
